JUST PUBLISHED. Thimbles & Things collects together a dozen projects perfect for sewing enthusiasts. As well as a variety of thimble designs, there are needle cases, a cute sewing cache, pin cushions, a sew-and-go kit, and more. Drawings and instructions help you stitch-by-stitch along the way! (Note that several of the patterns have been previously available in other books, but are collected together here for the first time).

This pretty pincushion combines fabric, felt and beads to make a lovely gift for anyone who sews. Keep it anywhere at home to collect stray pins or needles. It also makes a great paperweight.

Coming in April 2016, Quilt Quartettes introduces six new block designs that can be arranged and re-arranged in multiple ways to create kaleidoscope effects. First, Kumiko completes an applique block. She then uses parts of that block, twisting and turning them to bring out surprising new designs. There are templates, drawings, and directions for the six main designs, plus instructions and photos to show the many different effects possible using the same template pieces.
Begin by choosing one of six bold, colorful yet easy to make basic blocks. Each measures 8" x 8", so you have the opportunity to choose large-scale, extravagant fabrics. The basic "quarter" design is appliqued onto a background using Kumiko's invisible applique techniques..
Next, it's easy to sew together four of these "quarters" and a new design emerges. Shown is just one way four of the quarters will come together. You can then combine six or more to make a quilt. Or you can switch it up, rearrange the blocks and get a different look. Just two versions from the same templates are shown below.
